Greatly improved accuracy of powder metering
Case study at a general chemical manufacturer producing semiconductor materials and functional resins
Static electricity is a major enemy when weighing small amounts of powder accurately and precisely with an electronic balance. When powders and containers are charged with static electricity, it causes instrument malfunctions and powder dispersal, leading to deterioration of workability and measurement accuracy. A major chemical manufacturer was experimenting with static electricity countermeasures for precision weighing using electronic balances at their plant, but they lamented that using a fan-type ionizer with airflow was useless because the powder would scatter. |
The plant installed a desktop no-blow ionizer, PHASED ARRAY SMART TRINC (TAS-810 SMT-SFS), and was very pleased to find that workability was greatly improved and accurate weighing became possible.
